Esplanade du Lac, 88400 Gérardmer. Disabled access through hotel reception
Chef Gery Calpetard, originally from Reunion Island, has been cooking since he was a boy. Qualified in catering on Reunion Island, he then worked extensively on traditional local dishes, particularly fish, in various places.
He came to France, to Gérardmer, in 2010, and applied to Hotel Beau Rivage. He perfected his craft under the chef Jean Michel Costa, especially fine French cuisine. The Management recognized his expertise and entrusted him with the running of the Toit du Lac restaurant. With his creativity at its peak, he then explored creating his own menus, combining local and exotic products to make unique dishes in an exceptional setting with a growing reputation and great success. March 2020: The pandemic hit France hard: we decided to temporarily close the Toit du Lac which was not suitable to meet the requirements at the time (the restaurant can only be accessed by lift, the kitchen is narrow and opens onto the restaurant, etc.). So chef Gery Calpetard took over the ground floor restaurant Côté Lac and went back to his original style. He put new dishes on the menu, adapting to the more sophisticated setting of the restaurant Côté Lac, offering fine bistrot cuisine with his usual rigour and care. Today we are delighted to offer you his delicious dishes at our hotel.
